Many parents swear by a light-up alarm clock, a sort of “timer” that allows your child to know it’s time to get up-and when it’s still time to stay in bed. Does she wake up cranky from naps, or do lengthy naps make for an impossible bedtime that pretty much goes out the window? Try cutting her naps short, making sure she has enough time awake before bedtime. Adjust the rest of your day to meet bedtime if need be. For now, hold your ground on a consistent bedtime, sticking to the same time each night. As she gets older, she’ll have more flexibility with her daily activities.
